Quaint charm filled my stay, with a lovely and hearty breakfast featuring fresh ingredients, including delicious local black pudding. The room, though small, was clean and equipped with everything needed for a restful night. A drawback was the absence of nearby pubs, limiting evening options, and the bar closed early, which felt restrictive. Despite this, the friendly atmosphere was welcoming, making it a good place for hikers venturing into the splendid nearby countryside.

Had an amazing time with friends! We enjoyed walks along the River Tees and explored nearby waterfalls. The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was top-notch with local produce. The secure parking was a plus for our group, and we loved the laid-back vibe of the bar. Definitely recommend this spot for a fun getaway.
My only downside was the lack of a good TV in the single room—it didn't work well and could use an upgrade.

the location was ideal for what we wanted and the staff were super friendly, they made us feel welcome right away. plus, the food was really delicious, especially the breakfast! the room was clean and comfy, even if it was a bit outdated. enjoyed chillin by the log fire in the bar area, very cozy!
however, our bathroom had some issues like rust and the taps were loose, which was kinda annoying. also the room felt tired and needs a bit of a refresh.
